Significant Changes
- Enhanced support for time zones is now available in UniversitySite. It is no longer necessary to do time zone conversions in your head when scheduling training events for other time zones. Now, you can simply select a time zone and start time! In addition, UniversitySite reminders are now sent at a time relative to the learner’s local time rather than the server’s local time and classroom times listed in reminder messages are presented in the learner’s local time, so confusion about event times is greatly diminished when scheduling for an office in another time zone. Learning Plan due dates are also sensitive to time zones now.
- Improved versatility of training events by adding support for multiple instructors and multiple types of contacts e.g. instructors, facilitators, speakers, etc for each event.
- Improved training event conflict checking. Conflict checking now includes support for multiple contacts and multiple rooms. The interface has been improved to eliminate frequent confusion stemming from time overlaps.
- Improved support for international and foreign customers by adding framework to support multiple languages(admin tools for use with this will come in the release after this one)
- Improved end user experience by adding a new Welcome Page that prompts first time visitors to specify their time zone and language preferences.
- Improved usability of Calendar and Catalog by adding a New Grid View with sortable columns
- Improved ease of reviewing compliance history. Learning Plan compliance can now be viewed for prior periods Enhanced reporting flexibility is now available by the including new data fields in the Excel data dumps provided by InstructorSite
- Improved sorting of user names. Throughout the application user name lists have been converted to the Last Name, First Name convention. In addition, report data downloaded to Excel now includes multiple formatting conventions for user names.
- Improved ease of finding training necessary for compliance. Credit based learning plans now display a list of courses offering a given credit to make it easy for learners to achieve their credit based learning goals. Furthermore, a list of courses that were taken by a user to achieve their credit goals is also displayed for each learner in the InstructorSite view of the learning plan.
- Improved visibility of filtered fields throughout the application. Fields that are filtered, appear bright red as a reminder that users are looking at a subset of the data available.
- Improved ability to communicate with specific audiences. Now you can easily email audience members.
- Improved personalization of the Learning Center. The number of custom fields on the user profile has been increased from 5 to 10, so it is now possible to expand the number of auto-membership audiences thereby improving upon the relevance of items displayed in the Learning Center to individual users.
